Stephanie Richardson, our most recent addition to StudioBurns, began her tenure photographing up and coming hiphop artist and author Fonzworth Bentley, for Atlanta Magazine, who will appear on Conan Obrien soon….."It was a great way to start my time here at the studio. I've shot for HBO, Cartoon Network, TNT, and Inside Edition,  but shooting my first job here at StudioBurns was like claiming a home. I'm glad to be here and look forward to all the amazing work to come!"

When asked to expound on his adventures since the last newsletter, Jerry Burns had this to say, "Since we last met, I’ve managed to get myself into some trouble. Good trouble. I am now on the board of AIGA-Atlanta and the chair of the Sustainability Initiative. It’s something I’ve always had a passion for and a way I can channel my energy into something that does some good. It’s a journey as we transform StudioBurns into a Carbon-Neutral entity. And if that’s not enough, I am now the Director of Photography @ Portfolio Center. It’s an amazing opportunity for me to share what I’ve learned over the last three decades and mentor the next generation of photographers. Look for great talent like our own Stephanie Richardson coming from there in the future. Oh yeah, I still shoot. Next newsletter I’ll share my four country European tour of vineyards and wine bars for Delta Airlines. Ciao!"

What about Guy? To many, this may be old news, but on the second day of July, 2006, Guy Welch officially hung up his (some would've said eternal) bachelorhood and married Shellie Sims, a high school teacher and professional actor. They bought a bungalow with a picket fence and now Guy is a domesticated man.

You can’t totally tie him down though. In September of this year, Guy embarked on his annual ‘off the beaten path’ adventure. This year, along with seven of his buds, he took off on a wild, week long, harrowing trip in a canoe through the Boundary Waters off the northern tip of Minnesota. While, as usual, a good time was had by all, the weather was a bit extreme. With snow squalls and near constant 30 mph wind, Instead of bringing insect repellant, a swim suit and a bug net, he probably should have packed his parka.

Guy is back to the domestic life now, and has taken up showering with buckets and collecting what little rainwater there is (Georgia is the next American dessert, but don’t worry, they’re doing a rain dance at the state capitol).

After a long hiatus from the newsletter, we thought it might be time to get back into the habit before everyone gets flooded with news of the new year and revived promises to keep in touch.
